Surrender your battles to God

Every day brings with it various problems to individuals. People have to battle with unemployment, illnesses, bereavement, crime, dropping out of college, being dumped by lover, marital conflict or dismissal from one’s job. Whatever battle faces you, God has demonstrated in the past that he can win it for you. The only thing you need to do is simply to surrender that battle to Him. This is what David did to defeat Goliath. “The Lord who delivered me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine”, David told King Saul. He told Goliath, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty…The battle is the Lord’s …” Whatever your battle, do not fear. Just like David, you only need to surrender the battle to God and he will defeat your Goliath for you. Whenever you face a crisis, tell yourself, “This battle is the Lord’s”. Certainly, once you give Him the green light, He will intervene and get that glorious victory for you.

Make failure your teacher

People do not try new things that result in success because of the fear of failure. They fear that if things fail society will ridicule them. They fear failure so they would rather stay their course of mediocrity. They would rather continue being ordinary. However there is a man who refused to be defeated by failure. “There is the story of a man who failed in business at the age of 21;was defeated in a legislative race at age 22;failed again in business at age 24;his sweet heart died when he was 26.He had a nervous breakdown at age 27;lost a congressional race at age 34;lost another one at 36;lost a senatorial race at age 45;failed in his effort to become vice president at age 47;lost a senatorial race at age 49;and at age 52 was elected president of the United States! His name was Abraham Lincoln”, writes Willie Jollie. Please do not fear failure. Make failure your teacher.
